The invasion of Attu Island
Did you know the Japanese invaded Attu Island (part of the Aleutian Islands)? Neither did I. So, here's a story about it. And here's a trailer for a movie called "Red, White, Black and Blue" about it.

I did know about that battle. I saw a documentary on it on the History Channel I believe a few years ago. Or maybe it was on a newsmagazine like 20/20. To send our troops there in winter without winter gear was so totally criminal. I did not know about the memorial - not a good thing at all.
