King Georgie consolidating power
US Attorney Carol Lam (here in San Diego) was the one that got Randy "Duke" Cunningham sent to the joint for (effectively) taking bribes. She's been asked to resign, along with a bunch of other US Attorneys. And what makes this story more scaryis that I actually agree with Sen Dianne Feinstein's remarks here.
Though, I will admit, Feinstein (and other Dems) get no sympathy from me since they voted for the re-authorization of the Patriot Act, in which all of this skulduggery is taking place.

You are so right: It IS King Georgie. This is a guy who thinks limits are for someone else. That he is above the law. Look at that damn Patriot Act that has nothing to do with being Patriotic but lots to do with the country becoming very unfree.
It is scary to have what seem to be competent and diligent US prosecutors removed from office for apparently political reasons. Too bad we can't get rid of George.
