Ties and Japan

Pretty much all males in Japan wear ties at work. Heck, they even sell ties at convenience stores in case you lose/forget yours. That's what makes the following stories so funny.

How interesting! I do pity the tie makers! Too bad that the US doesn't go that way - so we don't freeze to death in 99% of the buildings during the summer. What's wrong with it being just 10° cooler inside than out rather than a 30-40° difference (or more?!).
