Things I think about when the power goes out

(That's a George Carlin line)

Packaging. For example, I am a competent, 38 yr old. I hate modern packaging. How in the hell does an older (say, 65+) person deal with modern packaging? Or pill bottles? Or phones/cellphones with tiny buttons? It's a big deal now, it'll be a bigger deal as the Baby Boomers get old and need to deal with modern packaging.

Amen. I hate childproof bottles that are actually adultproof. And then there are CD's which you spend 10 minutes trying to get the cellophane removed from. And even more wonderfully, there's that tough plastic stuff that a lot of items are put in that require bolt cutters to get into and slice your hand when you finally manage to get it partially open.

Neither Dad nor I are wimps but gee whiz, let's make packaging more consumer friendly. I understand the theft-prevention aspect but why am I being penalized for actually buying the darned thing?
