Power out at the condo

Got home from work around 4pm yesterday and the entrance gate to my complex was stuck 1/2 way open (and it wasn't moving). However, the exit gate was working OK, so I went in that way. I parked and told the manager about the gate being stuck open and she mentioned that there was a power problem (the lights were off in the office). I got to my condo and my living room lamp, a flourescent light, was on OK, but the clock on my stereo was just barely visible. The bulb in the refrigerator was barely lit, too. My computer was making funny noises, so I shut it off. I called SDGE and they said that the power would be back on at 6pm. So, I waited, took a nap, and at 6pm the power wasn't back on - in fact, it was totally out now. Called SDGE and they said 9pm. I heard that the gates were stuck closed, so I knew I wasn't going to Krav Maga class. At 7:30, I walked around, noticed that the gates were open and went out for dinner (no opening the fridge or cooking!), had a coffee at Starbucks and got back around 9. Called SDGE since the power was STILL out, they said midnight for power being back on. The complex was completely dark now, as you can imagine. Around 11pm, I called SDGE again, this time they said 2AM! I walked around the complex a bit and around 1AM the power came back on. My computer is fine, nothing appears to be fried.

The problem with the power appeared to be with the underground cable that feeds our complex - apparently it went bad somehow, so SDGE had to dig it up, replace it, etc.
